PALAKKAD RAILWAY DIVISION | Swarga Foundation

Swarga Foundation, in collaboration with the International Gemmological Institute (India), proudly launched Project Sugamya – India’s first-ever Mobile Ramps and Customized Wheelchairs for public use at the Palakkad Railway Division on 28th April 2025 at Palakkad Railway Station in the presence of Chief Guest, Mr. Arun Kumar Chaturvedi, DRM, Palakkad.

This historic event marked a significant milestone in inclusive travel. A total of 24 mobile ramps and 24 customized wheelchairs were formally handed over for deployment across all railway stations under the Palakkad division. The initiative aimed to ensure safe, dignified, and independent mobility for persons with disabilities and reduced mobility.

Project Sugamya redefined accessibility in the Indian Railways, breaking barriers and paving the way for a more inclusive transport system.
